The purpose of Sequoia Art Group is to provide opportunities for cooperation in the development of artistic culture, improvement of fine art skills, and promotion of fellowship among persons who have these interests. Founded in 1962, it is co-sponsored by the Redwood City Parks and Recreation Department.
Under the motto "support each other," the group sponsors monthly demonstrations by well-known Bay Area artists and other lecturers on art-related subjects.
To bring art to the community, Sequoia Art Group organizes the annual Redwood City Spring Art Show each May. The Art Show is free to the public and open to all artists residing between Belmont and Menlo Park, including students of the Sequoia Union High School District.
Sequoia Art Group also arranges group shows at local venues such as city and county government buildings, libraries, hospitals, restaurants, coffee houses and banks.
The meetings are open to the public.
Rental Options: Panels and their hanging accessories rent to Sequoia Art Group members for $6.00 per panel and non-members for $12.00 per panel per weekend. To reserve panels and for more details, contact Sequoia Art Group member Eva Klinger at
and state the number of panels and dates required. Pickup and return of the panels takes place during business hours of 9:00am to 4:00pm (not weekends).
